With over a decade in the documentary field, I’ve held various roles from editor to videographer to associate producer. My focus has centered around Appalachian themes and topics, but I’m always eager to explore new ideas through my films. Keep an eye out for my latest projects!
Finding Home
My upcoming directorial debut is a documentary entitled Finding Home where we follow the journey of a young Burmese immigrant, Cing Khek, and her family as they search for opportunities to build a new and better life in the conservative stronghold of West Virginia. The film depicts the ethnic diversity of the Appalachian region, the economic forces causing people to migrate to this area, and the choices individuals make to stay within the region. At its core, the film empowers a diverse cast of Appalachian citizens to reclaim their own narrative in a region that is often dominated by stereotypes.
The Ramp Hunter
The Ramp Hunter is apart of the Mountain Traditions Project. The project tells the stories of 50 individuals carrying forward Appalachian traditions in our rapidly changing world and explores culture as a dynamic force, challenging long-held notions of cultural rigidity in Appalachia. The project features 50 photographic portraits (each with its own story), 5 short documentary films, and a podcast series. As a part of this series, I had the opportunity to direct and film two videos for the project. For more information click this link!

Del Doc
Recently, I had the opportunity to serve as associate producer and productions coordinator for the documentary, Del Doc, all about the bluegrass music festival: Delfest. The documentary is set to be released in 2021. Check back here for more updates!
Puppet Man
I was challenged to produce a documentary in under a minutes time. I came up with this piece, Puppet Man, that I produced during my studies at Frostburg Sate University. Gerry Snelson, an English professor by day and Puppeter in his free time has crafted puppets for years, only showing them off during performances at his church. Shortly after this film was released, Gerry began teaching a puppet crafting class alongside his English classes.
Life’s A Stage Trailer
Life’s a Stage: The Gwen Lehman Story is a documentary film that I helped produce during my undergraduate career at Frostburg State University. The film highlights retired theatre teacher, Gwen Lehman who helped create the famous Stephen Decatur High School Children’s Theatre.
