Teaching Experience

My teaching philosophy grew long before I entered the classroom, shaped by watching my mother teach art and special education with compassion and creativity. From her, I learned that teaching is less about information and more about connection. Today, I bring that same spirit into my film and media courses, where every student’s story and learning style matters. I design inclusive, hands-on classes that merge creative practice with critical thinking, using flexible grading systems like my token model to encourage growth and accountability. Through reflective journals, collaborative projects, and real-world storytelling experiences, I help students develop both technical skill and artistic confidence. My goal is to create a space where curiosity thrives, diversity is celebrated, and filmmaking becomes a tool for exploring identity, community, and innovation.

Adjunct Professor Film Studies: Interdisciplinary Studies

Designed and launched both Editing Film and Digital Media (focused on advanced storytelling through visual editing) and Audio Storytelling and Podcasting (exploring the art of narrative and fictional audio production).
Designed and led a study abroad documentary film course in Italy, guiding students in international field production and collaborative storytelling.
Created and managed the Film Studies equipment room, overseeing student training, checkout processes, and resource organization.
